80% of each team’s expenses for prototyping their project can be reimbursed up to a maximum amount of $800 (e.g. if the team spends $1000, they can receive $800 back. But if the team spends more than $1000, they will still only receive $800 back). To make sure that you can be properly receive this amount, students should save and submit all receipts pertaining to their work along with the relevant purchasing forms and contact Mason Hollandbeck.

Non-Industry sponsored projects

But if the team spends more than $500, they will still only receive $400 back). To make sure that you can be properly receive this amount, students should save and submit all receipts pertaining to their work along with the relevant purchasing forms and contact Mason Hollandbeck.

Instructions for Package Delivery

Students can have items shipped directly to their homes or other address’s other than the invention studio if they personally purchase them. This will help with the loss of packages

Students who are using personal funds to make purchase for their capstone team projects are authorized to have those packages mailed to any address.  Students will be reimbursed for those purchase provided they can turn in a receipt showing proof of payment.

Students who are using Georgia Tech’s systems of purchasing material (Items that are purchase by Mason Hollandbeck or a representative of GT or with GT funds) are required to have those packages mailed either to Mason Hollandbeck’s office or the Invention Studio, where students will be notified of the packages arrival and times of package pick. A downloadable sample proof of payment is provided below.

Students that receive invoices from companies for purchase made with personal forms of payment:  These invoices must show the form of payment on it and a ZERO balance.  Any invoices showing a balance will be denied and you will receive no notification from accounting about non-payment of the invoice.  It will simply be removed from you total of receipts.

Purchases can be made tax free. Note that any packages which are not shipped to the address above will not be eligible for reimbursement.

The Invention Studio located in the MRDC building is dedicated to helping you prototype your work.

The Capstone Expo: The Capstone Expo is the final event of the senior design process. Here students will exhibit their work to one another and to professionals and sponsors from industry and research. Projects will be judged and cash prizes awarded for first, second, and third places.
